Joseph Allibert (1884 – 1972) creates and develops a shoe soles factory in Isère (France).
1947
Developpement
His son-in-law Bernard Deconinck develops the activity and begins to work with plastic injection.
1958
First bathroom cabinet
Creation of the first Allibert bathroom cabinet : Aurore ! The group is also expanding its activity to the automotive industry.
1972
Convergence
Allibert merges with the Sommer company, the leading French producer of modern flooring, to form a single European center in the sector of the housing and of the automotive industry.
80/90’s
Expansion
Strong growth of the Group in 5 activities: coating, industry, housing, handling and packaging. In 1997, over 70% of sales are generated abroad. The group then has 79 factories in 19 countries.
1997
Repositioning
Refocusing of Sommer Allibert Group. The Outdoor division is bought by Keter; the flooring one by Tarkett and the Handling & Packaging-branch becomes Schoeller Allibert. The American group Andlinger and JP Morgan take the management of the Habitat division and of the Allibert brand. A new logo is unveiled.
2000
Allibert Home
JP Morgan takes full control of Allibert and resells, in 2003, to the Keter Group. This private group also acquires, a few years later, the company Curver to become one of the world leaders in the plastic market for Home and Garden.

2014 sees the birth of THE solution for storing socket blocks and unsightly cables. The e-box neatly hides them away for a perfectly organised interior. Its lid has been developed to allow electronic devices to be recharged safely and protect the contents of the box from dust.
